The holy holy girls in our BIO 101 class

The way to the lecture theater was marauded with 100 level students of the faculty of Biological Sciences. Few seconds after I and Oluwaseun settled down, the lecturer got in and locked the entrance. 

"Good morning class" the lecturer greeted. 

"Good morning sir" some of us chorused while others shouted,  "Good morning uncle.." 

"I want to set a record straight. 

Listen and listen carefully. 

I see that some of you are clowns here, well, my class is not a circus. 

Once I'm in this class no one comes in or leaves, except I permit him/her to do so. The moment you are seated in my class, I become the Alpha and Omega. 

If you are here to waste your time, then waste yours not mine or that of your serious course mates. 

I'll make life hard for all the hard guys and hard babes. Flow with me and we'll all be fine. 

Your parents or sponsors paid your tuition fees so that you'd pay attention, listen and learn, but you don't have to do that." The lecturer said emphatically. 

"Anyone who doesn't like me is free to skip as many classes as he or she pleases, but one thing is for sure, you can't skip my tests or examination. 

I don't award grades anyhow. 

A is for God, B is mine, C is for the most serious students amongst you, while D, E and F is for the rest of you. 

Once again - welcome to the University, welcome to the free world. 

Ladies and gentlemen my name is Dr. Gilbert Ekenechukwu. Welcome to BIOL 101

I know you're surprised, Yes Mr. Abdulhadi was standing in for me all this while. I've been in the UK for my PhD but I'm back now. We'll continue from where he stopped with you."

There was a sudden dead silence because the class clowns where put in their place and we all knew it'd be academic suicide to try the no nonsense lecturer. 

"Without further ado, today we are going to be taking a look at sexual reproduction." He announced. 

I'm not going to delve too deep because you are all young adults and I believe you are familiar with how sex and reproduction in Kingdom Animalia from your senior secondary work and life experiences. 

After this class, I'll hand a copy of our first handout to your class representative. Collect and photocopy if you care. In it you'd find our course outline which includes; 

Kingdom Animalia, the origin of life, cell structure and function, the diversity of living forms, their ecology, evolution and reproduction. You'll find more elaborate explanations in your handouts and textbooks. 

With out Spermatozoon- singular, plural- spermatozoa! fertilization and conception is impossible for humans, except you are Jesus.

Spamatozoa contains genetic substances known as Chromosomes. There are 46 chromosomes. This genetic substances transmit characteristics from the parent to the child. It is responsible for how an individual looks, colour of skin, hair and eyes. 

There are 26 spam cells

"Class can someone elaborate on Spermatozoa?" He queried.

The interesting question suddenly lighten the tensed atmosphere and a handful students tried to answer it. 

The lecture theater suddenly erupted with laughter and jeers when Adams, a microbiology department student rose up and gave a very raw explanation. Instead of a rebuke, the lecturer smiled and asked him to sit down.

"This is not a Sex education class and that's a bit vile but it is what it is." Dr Gilbert affirmed and continued with the class.

Seated next to us where two innocent looking girls, which I later got to know where Nusaiba and Amarachi. 

Nusaiba was an alfa's daughter and had a strict religious upbringing while Chioma was a devout Pentecostal girl from one of the holiness parish in town.  

While most of the class were enjoying "Sexual Reproduction" which is unarguably students' most exciting topic of all time, the two holy girls were perplexed and disgusted by it.  They even decided to put on their earpiece so as not to hear the bad things that were taught 🙄🙄😂😂

By two hundred level, Chioma was already living with her boyfriend off campus and Nusaiba was regularly picked up for weekend getaways by rich Alhajis and Aritocrats. 

When our lecturer said "Take this topic seriously." those girls took it personal and even added practical to it.
